About Reading Refugee Support Group 2009
The Group was setup in 1994 . Its aims to assist refugees and asylum seekers who are resident in the Reading area, and in conditions of need, hardship or distress.
The Group will help them to access services and assist them to maintain their dignity and provide them with practical support to rebuild their lives.
Our objectives are
- To offer information, advice and support on a wide range of issues, including asylum matters, housing, health, education, training, employment, accessing benefits, securing household items etc.
- Promote the integration of our clients and their dependents into mainstream society and help build their self-esteem individually and collectively.
- To lobby on behalf of our clients, advocating for their needs with the local authorities and Educate the general public about issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers.
