 Youth Project

The Reading Refugee Youth Project is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundations since April 2007 to enable young people who are dependants of refugees and asylum seekers. The project also facilitates unaccompanied minors.

The main objective of the project is to help the children of the refugees and asylum seekers to integrate in the community and to develop their self-esteem. The project aims to provide the mainstream recreational activities to enhance their individual sense of confidence, develop their skills and talent and also to build interest in extra curriculum activities. The project promotes children and young people between 10-18 years old. Many children and young people actively participate and value what they can do to improve their social life through recreational activities of their interest such as traditional music and dance, arts and craft, football, basketball, contemporary dance and music, Quran reading, rugby, theatre, languages, kung-fu, swimming and many more.
